Personally the way I think about virtual reality is that it is just the same as a computer or console except it is put closer to your eyes. I mean if you look at it, it is the same display being shown to you except you are given different controllers so that it can mimic as if it were happening in real life. That is just basically the same thing that is happening in your normal computer games but to a lesser extent. You can manipulate where you are looking at in both virtual reality and video games, you can grab stuff by clicking, pressing a button, or having virtual reality do whatever it does, etc. I wouldn’t really say there is much of a difference between virtual reality and normal games in the context of this discussion. Plus virtual reality can also just be categorized into something more general which are games. Basically I still think VR is a 3d game if you look at my argument from before because that is sort of how displays work. You are looking at a 3d environment on a 2d display just like in real life. Your eyes give you a 2d visual except you are living in a 3d world.
good points me being the only one to read the entire paragraph
Does that mean a 4th dimensional being would see in 3d?
i think they would see on a higher plane
since 4 d can change
You still love being weird and harassing others? Bro I thought you learnt your lesson
no one ever truly changes usually
Yes, also here is the same wikipedia link that I sent in my earlier message: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four-dimensional_space#:~:text=And%2C%20in%20the%20same%20way,once%20with%20their%203D%20retina.
While I get what you mean, I’d suggest that you should also try thinking about it in this way; we live in a 3d world but view it in 2d. If you were a 2d being, you would lose stuff like depth perception which creates limitations with what you can see or do. However if we were to go back and retrieve our 3 dimensions then we would gain back all the good stuff we have about it. Go to 4 dimensions, boom! You can now see the inside of objects and all of those great properties. But wait, if you were to go to 5 dimensions then they would gain even more abilities/perspectives/whatever that allows them to bypass restrictions that other dimensions previously had. This will continue over and over again for all the dimensions as you increase the number of dimensions as you go. Same for decreasing the number of dimensions, you lose more as you go further on just like adding and subtracting.
Also when I was typing this, I found this neat thing that I used to help formulate my thoughts: Planiverse: A novel in many dimensions
hmm interesting points I really didn’t take much time to think, and it is true since the higher dimensions include higher planes of being (and sight etc etc) so to speak and like you said different restrictions are lifted for each higher dimension, so it is a higher state of being with other things involved, very interesting.
