Would appreciate any critiques or ideas for this, the harsher the better. Having trouble with the beard atm

i am trash compared to your work of art
I’m nothing special, just using copious amounts of layers (total in the current file so far is ~20-ish, the face before the splicing [the bottom layer in the picture] was ~14 layers before I combined them all together)

Bumping this topic since I got no advice
My current idea is to include a hand holding the sword since a floating head moving a sword with its mind would probably look weird. Is this a good idea? What should I base the sword on?
Does the beard look fine? idk if it needs more work or not
