I’m no artist, but I’d opt for more wrinkles on the face, and on the branches perhaps. Maybe the eyes could just be dark brown (no pupil and whites) and more frowny, so the tree looks more grumpy.
You could also try to give it a more unkempt look, with vines, cracks, more bark on the tree?
