I Created an AI Chatbot

So, guys, I don’t think any of you know this about me, but I’m part of HackClub, which is a non-profit dedicated to providing assistance and education for teen programmers.

What is HackClub?

HackClub is, as I said, a non-profit organisation entirely made for teenage programmers. They host programming events with rewards, and provide free support and assistance (they even provide grants!) to teenagers that create local HackClubs (HackClub-based programming clubs) at their schools and/or host local (or virtual) hackathons.

Ok, what’re you trying to say?

HackClub also provides free resources for all HackClubers. One of these resources is ai.hackclub.com, which is a free API for a famous AI LLM called DeepSeek V3, which is better than GPT-4o on almost EVERY benchmark!

I took advantage of this, and since I couldn’t find ANY website that allows you to directly communicate with ai.hackclub.com, I decided to make one myself.

FINALLY, after about three days of programming, I ended up with (drumroll please)… hackclub-chatbot.vercel.app!

Features

  • Remembers everything you say! As long as you don’t refresh the page, of course.
  • Has almost EVERY markdown feature!

  • Memory and chat persistence
  • Multiple chats at any one time
  • Customizable system prompt
  • Working memory between conversations
  • Better code support (copy button, numbered lines, etc.)

the best part? It’s all FREEE!!! You don’t have to sign-up or anything, it’s all right at your fingertips without some soul-sucking corporation here to steal all your data!

I’m planning on storing it locally. But yeah, if push comes to shove, I may be forced into implementing accounts.

accounts are only good on this stuff so that it remembers what u have asked in the past so you can go straight back to what you were searching

Oh yeah I know, but what I was trying to say is that you can store that same data about what you’ve asked before on your device.

ChatGPT is your best friend? My website is basically just ChatGPT, except it uses an AI called DeepSeek V3 which is actually better than ChatGPT.
