This is basically my rant against necroposting.
-
First, I’m going to define necroposting. I’ll define it as posting something in a topic where there has been no activity for a long time(weeks, months) with no reason to reopen it.
-
I am not trying to argue against it if you have a reason. I am completely fine if you revive lets say a skin post, if cool guy says hes trying to make a skin update.
-
The type of necroposting i’m arguing should be punishable is aimless necroposting. I’ll provide a few examples. These examples are not supposed to target anyone, but if you necropost a lot, you’ll probably be there a lot
i can probably find more but im too lazy
Anyway these posts are completely useless for anything constructive. They basically exist to farm replies.
So, I propose that either
A: install a more strict autoclose system. It might get really annoying, but at least no one will get punished.
B: Create a punishment for necroposting and make a new flag option for it. I’m not an expert on punishments so i wont put any ideas here.
And if your saying that you are responding to the post, thats just bs. for example, in the last post, what was the point in asking if the results are out? its been 6 months, the poster is not just inactive, but not on the forum anymore, so there’s no reason to ask that.
also im flagging everything thats slightly off topic
