“ So I’ve heard from Wasd that you said that my decision to give Wasd my position as moderator was a scheme between the two of us? I want to make this very clear. I only asked for mod back after Wasd’s promotion because something problematic was happening on the forum late in the evening, at a time too late for Wasd to still be online, considering his timezone. As I was no longer mod, I couldn’t do anything to stop it.
I remember messaging other mods to get online to take action, but it took a little while for one to finally show up. I decided, though very reluctantly, to ask gautam if I could temporarily have mod back for the short remainder of the time I would be active on the forum (which, if I remember correctly, was about 1-2 months). Only under his permission and trust was I able to serve as moderator one more time.
I would like to remind you that I chose Wasd as my replacement because I was anticipating my future goodbye to the forum. I realize that I still do have moderator powers. I remember being surprised that this was the case when I came back for my first visit during Thanksgiving break. I believe I have asked in the moderator chat many times to have my powers revoked, but nothing came of it. I recognize that yes, I could have been more insistent on getting my moderator powers removed, but I (as did some of the other mods) did not think it to be much of an issue considering that I am very inactive on the forum (only dropping by during long breaks from school).
I do not and will never see the position of moderator as a means for power or as something that I desperately want, if that is what you are insinuating by your word choice “scheme”. I have and always will see it as a duty and responsibility to the community, and would have never asked to get mod powers back (intended for a limited time) unless I thought it was necessary.
I will be back relatively soon if you want to discuss this further. But I will say that I am pretty disappointed that you did not trust my judgment and that you would accuse me of plotting to get mod back for my own advantage.” - Shadowblade
