: narrator: We start our story in the royal council room. The counselors are arguing on how to pay the kingdom. The dispute is being settled by the two most trusted counselors the one the king thinks makes more sense will be used.
king: We have a long unaddressed problem upon us, We have a newly acquired currency, gems, They are worth 100 of our normal coins so they are valuable. So should we pay them coins and let them be converted into gems or do we just pay them gems and be done with it. In addition, you could be promoted to dukes and dutchuses
counselor 1: I think we should pay them coins and let them get 1 gem per 100 coins. They cannot deplete our reserve of valuables to trade with other kingdom’s if worse comes to worse we will have the ability to pay other kingdoms to come to our aid in our realm. If we just pay them gems, we will run out of gems faster than we can get them and we have to pay an entire kingdom. Even though we can cut the gems we cannot afford to lose it all to pay the entire kingdom.
counselor 2: I think we should pay the gems and be done with it. We let the kingdom explore and we can see what they can come up with. Imaging what our blacksmiths could come up with, that could have new swords, shields etc on. We could always just slow down the pace that we pay the kingdom.
Counselor 1: I get it, but another realm has been passive aggressive towards us we should save and be smart with our choices since we never know when our realm can be under siege.
Part 2 of part 1
King: ENOUGH, I think I have heard enough about the issue, and I decide that counselor one’s option is a sounder one, we should always save what we have for darker times that might be upon us. Not to mention we always have new citizens coming into the kingdom, we cannot afford to lose all of our valuables then fail to pay our warriors and citizens, not to mention the things we are funding so we cannot afford to have a chance to go bankrupt. Though I get your idea counselor 2 I think counselor 1 has a better idea.
Counselor 1: Thank you, my king.
15 minutes later in the middle of the decision being made public
Scribe: And for this reason, the king has decided that the best course of action is by letting you convert your coins into gems, it has been thought through about and it seems to be the best course of action, in time you citizens can build piles of gems as big as the piles of coins some of you have. In time you could receive a higher rank in the kingdom. Like a duke. You will learn that this action was the best course of action in time. That is all.
Villager 1: Hey this is a bad idea.
Villager 2: no its a good idea
Villager 3: I am mixed on it but be quiet or the king will hang you for treason against him.
And so, it went the villager’s stating their opinions and IT went on until the king said.
King; One more bad word and you will end up on the gallows for treason.
