Personally, the best strategies I use are vibes and language along with Licesnse plates to rule out EU.

Learning car meta , bollards and differentiating languages should just be enough
Overtime, you may learn some niche metas while playing or just develop a sense and be able to vibe-guess
I have a weird strategy that somehow works for me, I use the road names to see what language the location is in.
That is just differentiating languages. Could be on signs , posters or in your case the road name
